No spout required with new aseptic filling technology

JBT FoodTech's new patented Aseptic filling technology has been tested through the Italian 2009 Tomato season. This aseptic filler is specifically designed to fill pouches without the need for a spout.

Named the SPACE (spout-less, pouch, automatic, compact, ecological) aseptic filler, this new breed of technology was built to improve flexibility for processors that fill a wide range of pouch sizes for the foodservice market.

The opening of the pouch is 2-in (6cm) wide, which means processors, can fill products with pieces or particulates more quickly and potentially at a lower cost. Its an suitable unit for functional food products and specialty juices, as the pouches, once filled are ultrasonically sealed to maximise sterility.

The compact-sized filler can accommodate pouch sizes that range from 3kg to 10kg (22 pounds) and from 3L (6 pints) to 10 L (21 pints).

JBT's Manuele Levati is excited at the progress made. He says: "After dedicated effort from our R&D team and the close collaboration with several customers we have developed an exciting unit that complements our range of aseptic technology. We anticipate a growing demand for wider applications in particulate aseptic filling, and after closely listening to our customers requirements we have been able to provide a compact and economic solution."
