Wipes do more than just skim the surface

At a time of increasing concern about the risks of cross-contamination, Labcaire has introduced a hard surface disinfectant wipe ideally suited to cleaning laboratory instruments and disinfecting work areas.

Labcaire Autowipes are pre-impregnated with a 5percent solution of virucidal disinfectant to ensure rapid non-selective activity against bacteria, fungi, viruses and mycobacteria. When only 20percent of laboratory acquired infections follow known accidents, such as broken glass or needle sticks, Autowipes provide a safe and easy method of infection control.

As a broad spectrum cleaning agent, Autowipes are perfect for most laboratory surfaces. These include sensitive instruments, safety cabinets, laboratory benches and shelving, stools, trolleys and skin. Each Autowipe measures 220mmx200mm and they are supplied in drums of 200.

Winning Ways, published by the UK Department of Health, identifies hand decontamination as vital in the control of infection. However, it is also widely recognised that sore, dry skin as a result of using alcohol-based products is a disincentive to strict hand hygiene. Autowipes are aldehyde-, chlorine-, phenol- and ethyl alcohol free and may be safely used as an effective skin cleanser.

In allowing laboratory professionals to maintain strict hygiene procedures without irritating their skin, Autowipes overcome one of the major barriers to cross-contamination control in the workplace.
