Patent depository for cell cultures

The European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC) was established in 1984 to service the research community and provide a recognised patent depository for Europe.

Over the past 20 years ECACC has expanded and diversified to become one of the premier collections of authenticated cell cultures in the world and this remains the core of our business. The collections currently hold over 40000 cell lines representing 45 different species, 50 tissue types, 300 HLA types, 450 monoclonal antibodies and at least 800 genetic disorders.

ECACC has also developed a range of purified cell line DNA which is available from stock. In addition it is able to provide custom DNA extracted from any of its cell lines from microgram to milligram quantities. It offers a high quality, purified genomic DNA suitable for a wide spectrum of genetic research applications.

ECACC is based in Porton Down, Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK. www.ecacc.org.uk
