Vacuum in combinatorial chemistry

More often high boiling point solvents like DMF or DMSO are used in combinatorial chemistry. This has a tremendous influence on vacuum requirements for concentration and evaporation processes.

Evaporation temperatures can or should not be increased, therefore a low working pressure is required.

The new Vario pumping units are ideal for demanding applications like combinatorial chemistry.

Vario diaphragm pumps offer an ultimate vacuum down to 0.6 mbar with all the advantages and quiet operation of chemistry diaphragm pumps from Vacuubrand. Parts coming into contact with vapours and gases are made of chemically resistant fluorinated plastic materials.

Compared to traditional two point controlled vacuum systems, pressure can be controlled to the point at highest evaporation speed. The VARIO pumping units provide automatic detection of vapour pressure as well as the automatic adaption of the vacuum to the process requirements. This saves more than

30 per cent of the average process time. Solvent recovery rates near 100 per cent can be reached through continuous evaporation. Operation and maintenance costs are minimized. Vario diaphragm pumps offer an outstanding pumping speed, quiet operation and long unrivaled diaphragm life time.

Via the serial interface pre-programmed routines or complex processes can be imported. u
