Leveraging selectivity with mass LC-MS-MS

Micromass' new NanoLockSpray accessory for the company's LCT and Q-Tof range of mass spectrometers enables fully automated exact mass nanoLC-MS and nanoLC-MS-MS analyses.

The resulting increase in specificity enables automated proteomics and metabolism studies to be conducted with higher confidence. NanoLockSpray is optimised for nanoLC-MS at flow rates ranging from a few 100s of nl/min to a few 10s of nl/min ­for maximum sensitivity.

The NanoLockSpray accessory allows users of Micromass' orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight (TOF) instruments in the electrospray mode to elegantly circumvent solvent/gradient elution effects and eliminate potential mass interferences when introducing a lock mass reference. This accessory enables unattended characterisation of organic compounds (eg, peptide sequencing and drug metabolite ID) with the added confidence of exact mass measurement.
