Biotechnology company Cytek Biosciences has introduced its Muse Micro cell analyser, aiming to simplify flow cytometry for areas such as drug discovery and biopharma.
“Traditional flow cytometry systems can be cost-prohibitive and workflow-intensive, limiting their use to only the most well-funded, well-staffed labs,” said Cytek CTO Dr Ming Yan.
“The Muse Micro cell analyser opens new market opportunities for Cytek by enabling smaller labs, emerging markets, and resource-limited facilities to access high-quality flow cytometry at an affordable price.”
The system’s pre-optimised assay kits simplify and accelerate routine assays. The Muse Micro cell analyser offers applications in cell and gene therapy, drug discovery, pathway analysis, cell counting, viability, apoptosis, cellular stress and immune cell monitoring.
The Muse Micro system features a 488nm blue laser and offers five parameters, including forward and side scatter alongside three fluorescent channels.
Precise and reliable cell analysis is supported by advanced microcapillary technology, with a displacement pump delivering accurate cell counts and eliminating the need for calibration beads.
Cytek InCyte software which simplifies setup and analysis of plots and automates compensation, enables scientists develop and run their own three-colour assays.
Pre-optimised kits and modules further simplify the flow cytometry setup and process, streamlining routine assays.
The Muse Micro system features a touchscreen interface and an overall compact design, measuring 8in by 10in to take up minimal laboratory space.
