New products by SGD Pharma at Pharmapack

Treatment for glass packaging, as well as vials and caps will be introduced at this year’s exhibition

Glass pharmaceutical packaging provider SGD Pharma will be showcasing several new products at this year’s Pharmapack in Paris.

“We look forward to showcasing our latest high-quality, innovative packaging solutions to the pharma community at Pharmapack in our home-base of Paris,” said SGD Pharma CEO Olivier Rousseau. “These reflect our company’s unwavering commitment to improving patient outcomes through reliable, best-in-class glass packaging.

Many SGD Pharma products will be displayed, such as its platform Sealian, an internal treatment that enhances the performance of moulded glass vials. The internal treatment creates a barrier coating to protect the integrity of the therapeutic product inside, improving chemical durability for alkaline solutions.

Sealian has hydrophobic properties for all pharma applications. This prevents high-viscosity infusions from sticking to the vial’s interior surface. This minimises interactions with the packaging and allows for easy inspection.

Sealian comes as a parenteral, oral and nasal solution and is available for all glass types in vial sizes ranging from 3ml to 500ml in clear and amber glass.

An example of such suitable containers is SGD Pharma’s Idency Type I, Sterinity EZ-fill vials and Velocity vials Type I.

Idency vials, used for sensitive parenteral drugs, combine the high chemical and mechanical resistance of moulded glass with the same outer diameter as standard tubular glass vials to ease integration into existing filling lines.

Sterinity vials are suitable for applications such as veterinary and human health and liquid and lyophilised products.

Velocity vials help manufacturers optimise their fill and finish operations while reducing frictional resistance of the glass.

SGD Pharma will also introduce new caps for its Ensiemo syrup bottles, a full vial and pipette packaging solution in pharma-grade Type III glass. The caps are available with polypropylene or polyethylene caps for security.

External pharmaceutical packaging treatment Proseal+ will be displayed, protecting products from moisture and oxygen to maintain shelf-life.

Pharmapack will take place 22nd to 23rd January 2025.
