Pathology solutions specialist Techcyte has integrated the eleaDNAi, elea’s AI-native pathology reporting technology, into Techcyte Fusion, the digital pathology platform that brings anatomic and clinical pathology into a unified environment.
Digital pathology has transformed how pathologists access and review cases. Yet documenting the diagnosis often remains a separate step, requiring pathologists to move between systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
The collaboration between Techcyte and elea addresses this gap by bringing elea’s AI-native documentation intelligence directly into the diagnostic workspace. Designed as an AI-native assistant specifically for pathology, eleaDNAi goes beyond conventional transcription. It understands the context and transforms the pathologist’s real-time verbal assessment into structured, coded pathology documentation for downstream workflows. This all happens directly within Techcyte Fusion, allowing pathologists to stay in one workspace and maintain a seamless workflow.
From there, eleaDNAi helps put that structured information to work across the laboratory’s existing systems. Pathologists can create documentation, including synoptic reporting, with a simple voice command or a single click, while interoperability supports the flow of information into downstream systems. The pathologist remains in control throughout, with the ability to review and edit the generated documentation as needed before final sign-out.
The partnership also marks an expansion of eleaDNAi beyond elea Lab, elea’s AI-native pathology information system (LIS). By making its core reporting intelligence available within third-party pathology platforms, elea aims to contribute to a more open and connected pathology ecosystem.
The collaboration reflects a shared view of AI in pathology: technology should augment the expertise of the pathologist while keeping diagnostic judgment and final responsibility firmly with the physician.
Ben Cahoon, CEO of Techcyte Pathology said: “ultimately comes down to the diagnosis, and technology should make that moment easier, not more complicated. By bringing elea’s AI-based reporting capabilities into Techcyte Fusion, we can further reduce workflow friction and keep the pathologist focused on the case in front of them.”
Sebastian Casu, MD, Co-Founder & Chief Growth Officer, said: eleaDiagnosis is where a pathologist’s expertise becomes patient care. eleaDNAi is the core AI technology of elea Lab, our pathology information system. Together with Techcyte, we are bringing it to more laboratories as part of an open pathology ecosystem. eleaDNAi transforms the pathologist’s assessment into a structured report while keeping the focus on the case and control firmly with the pathologist.”
