Leica launches microscopy series

The series is suited to life science and clinical applications.

German manufacturer Leica Microsystems has launched the Visoria microscopy series for life science and clinical applications.

The series of upright microscopes can help enhance the efficiency and ergonomics of routine microscopy work for pathologists and researchers.

‘’The Visoria series of microscopes address the daily challenges of performing routine microscopy tasks," said Leica vice president of life sciences and applied solutions James O’Brien.

"Thanks to ergonomic features and encoded functions, these microscopes help users to work comfortably and efficiently, even when spending long hours at the microscope.”

There are three distinct microscope models in the Visoria series. The Visoria B laboratory microscope is especially suitable for life science and clinical laboratories, supporting histology and pathology examinations.

The Visoria P polarisation microscope is for those studying the optical properties of anisotropic materials and geological samples.

Lastly, the Visoria M materials microscope is for inspection of metals, electronics and polymer industries, as well as materials science labs.

With digital versions of the Visoria microscopes, users can view and analyse images of samples on a tablet without the need for a computer or eyepieces. This digital setup helps to save workbench space in the laboratory.

Visoria microscopes offer numerous settings and imaging parameters, including filters and magnification, which are automatically stored within the meta data of the image.

The microscopes are powered by the Enersight software platform to provide consistency and a simple interface.
