DeNovix unveils nanovolume spectrophotometer

The instrument supports quantification of 1µL nucleic acids and protein samples.

Laboratory equipment manufacturer DeNovix has unveiled a stand-alone nanovolume spectrophotometer which provides quantification of 1µL nucleic acids and protein samples.

The Helium 1µL spectrophotometer (Helium) is the newest addition to the company’s DS-Series quantification range.

“Our expansion of the DS-Series reflects our commitment to making DeNovix technology accessible to all laboratories,” said DeNovix market development manager Andrew Jones. “The Helium is a great solution for labs that need a reliable UV spectrophotometer at an affordable price.”

The Helium is suitable for laboratories where a full spectrum UV-Vis spectrophotometer is not required. It can assess dsDNA between 2 and 1600ng/µL dsDNA while reporting key 260/230 and 260/280 purity ratio results for sample quality control.

The instrument is based on DeNovix Smart Path technology, which ensures that the measurement distance (pathlength) stays within specification, to achieve accurate, reproducible results.

Laboratory efficiency is maximised with the Helium, offering a five-second measurement time, maintenance-free design and data-saving and export options. A 7in HD touchscreen makes the software easy to use.
