TTP LabTech’s new mosquito LCP is a dedicated liquid handler designed to facilitate the crystallisation of membrane proteins, such as G-protein coupled receptors, by offering a fully automated solution to lipid cubic phase (LCP) screening. It overcomes common problems with accurately dispensing nanolitre quantities of these highly viscous lipids and the precise positioning of buffer drops on top required for efficient imaging of membrane crystals. This novel automation system enables miniaturised LCP screening to be easily performed with excellent accuracy, whilst increasing the throughput of crystallisation protocols.
