New reporting software introduced to Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust will help to enhance foetal wellbeing
Crucial technology that will help improve foetal wellbeing reporting has been introduced by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) after partnering with Health Net Connections (HNC).
Viewpoint 6 is the ultrasound reporting software implemented by CHFT, which significantly enhances foetal wellbeing assessment across the Trust's maternity services to help reduce stillbirths.
Having gone live in May 2025, the software is set to deliver an upgrade from the traditional paper-based ultrasound reporting to the digital platform that is Viewpoint 6.
The digital platform enables sonographers to capture, graph and document foetal biometric data in a single digital report, seamlessly integrating into the Trust's Electronic Patient Record system.
The new technology brings many benefits to both patients and clinicians, including early detection of growth-restricted or slow-growing fetuses through detailed biometric analysis and the elimination of manual transcription errors with direct capture of foetal metrics in PDF reports.

His professionalism, knowledge and support were invaluable- not only to me, but also to the team, providing key information to enable the team to understand the future working environment and user requirements to support the integration build with several systems."
The implementation was a complex collaboration across departments involving Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radiology, Maternity, IT services, and project teams supported by HNC.
