Research aims for earlier cancer detection

Cancer detection specialist Early Signal Diagnostics Corp will begin validation studies of its AI-driven biomarker platform in early 2027.

The studies will take place at two laboratories in Bogotá, Colombia, using data from about 10,000 local patients. Results will determine the platform’s ability to detect ovarian and pancreatic cancer from a capillary blood sample.

“After more than seven years working alongside physicians, laboratories and health officials in Bogotá, I’ve seen how much the local medical community cares about earlier cancer detection,” said Todd Wright, VP of International Operations at Early Signal Diagnostics Corp. “We’re proud to validate our platform with them, in the population it’s meant to serve, and to hold it to the highest standard.”

The Early Signal Diagnostics platform applies single-cell RNA sequencing analysis and machine learning to cancer biomarker discovery. In recent work, the company’s analysis identified a novel set of oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes not previously recognised in pancreatic and ovarian cancer.

The participating laboratories will be announced once agreements are finalised. Preliminary results are expected approximately nine months after the validation studies begin.
