CDMO ReciBioPharm has received a three-year grant to support the use of xRNA Continuous Manufacturing technologies, with a focus on the development of inline PAT capabilities and predictive analytics software.
The aim of the grant is to improve scalability, quality and accessibility of RNA-based medicines.
“This grant represents a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing RNA manufacturing technologies that meet FDA standards,” said ReciBioPharm president Vikas Gupta.
“We are proud to lead this transformative effort, expanding access to RNA-based solutions for underserved regions.”
The PAT capabilities were developed through an MIT project funded by the FDA, while the overall grant is from the Gates Foundation.
Specifically, ReciBioPharm will focus on improving access to RNA therapeutics in low- and middle-income countries.
“Our collaboration with MIT has underscored the potential of continuous manufacturing for RNA therapeutics,” said ReciBioPharm chief scientific officer Aaron Cowley.
“This grant will help to strengthen our role as a pioneer in innovation and support our mission to make lifesaving technologies more accessible.”
