PHIX opens photonics cleanroom

Photonics assembly company PHIX has opened its cleanroom and offices in Bozeman, Montana.

“Opening our U.S. facility in Bozeman brings PHIX closer to our customers and to a growing photonics ecosystem in the United States,” said PHIX CEO Albert Hasper.

“Montana has built a strong combination of industry, research, and public investment around photonics, and we are excited to be part of that growth. This facility gives us a platform to expand our U.S. presence and support companies working to bring new photonic technologies to the market close to our US customers.”

The facility adds packaging and assembly to the region’s competences in photonic integrated circuit design, development and testing.

The PHIX US team was joined by Hasper and Optica’s Jose Pozo for a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by photonics industry executives and Montana officials.
