Natoli launches the Precision CT Scan

An imaging solution that allows manufacturers to visualise internal tablet structures

Innovator in the tablet compression industry Natoli Engineering has launched the Precision CT Scan. This 2-D and 3-D imaging solution provides non-destructive analysis that allows manufacturers to visualise internal tablet structures without cutting or altering them, helping detect flaws early and avoid costly problems.

Early flaw detection helps maintain quality, ensure compliance, and protect manufacturers’ reputations.

Key features and benefits

Natoli Engineering’s Precision CT Scan offers powerful and non-destructive 2-D and 3-D imaging. This reveals internal tablet defects without compromising the integrity of the sample. These defects may include voids, cracks, lamination, density inconsistencies, and improper layering. It also provides detailed analysis of coating thickness and adhesion, maps multi-API distribution, and identifies foreign materials such as metal or plastic.

In addition to analysing tablets, the Precision CT Scan can inspect blister packs and sealed vials without breaking any seals. This is done to confirm tablet integrity, count, and alignment inside sealed containers.

The product is designed to easily integrate into pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, veterinary, confectionery and industrial manufacturing environments, and to support QA and regulatory professionals. It also helps manufacturers improve blend uniformity, coating accuracy, and press calibration while also validating metal detection processes.

These characteristics results in fewer recalls and batch rejections and can help manufacturers meet regulatory standards with confidence, 'delivering greater efficiency and peace of mind throughout the production process,' according to the company.

Dale Natoli, president of Natoli Engineering said:  “At Natoli Engineering, we are committed to providing manufacturers with the tools they need to ensure precision and quality. Undetected defects can cost time and money. The Precision CT Scan represents a major step forward in inspection technology. It allows our customers to catch and correct issues early, reduce risk, and protect the integrity of every batch they produce.”
