The AI technology from Mindpeak could improve diagnostic accuracy
Digital pathology company Lumea has partnered with software company Mindpeak to integrate AI into its diagnostic platform.
“Lumea is pleased to integrate Mindpeak’s AI-powered tools into our BxLink platform,” said Lumea chief commercial officer James Thackeray.
“By uniting efficient tissue processing, a cutting-edge image management system, and intelligent AI analytics, Lumea and Mindpeak are contributing to the evolution of digital pathology.”
Lumea’s BxLink platform enables efficient handling, analysis and distribution of cellular imagery for laboratories and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Pathologists using Lumea’s system will have access to Mindpeak’s Breast Suite, as well as tools for PD-L1 analysis and Gleason grading tools for prostate cancer.
The platform also offers open compatibility with Mindpeak’s image analysis algorithms and AI solutions.
These tools enhance tumour grading precision and enable more accurate risk stratification, which ultimately will help pathologists make more efficient, better-informed clinical decisions.
Such diagnostic accuracy will also allow patients to receive more personalised treatment.

This is not the first time Lumea has welcomed outside technology into its BxLink platform. Earlier this month, Lumea integrated diagnostics company Pacific Edge's Cxbladder, a suite of non-invasive urine tests, to enhance urothelial cancer testing.
