Versatile mini spectrometer ideal for modern spectroscopy
Hamamatsu Photonics has launched the WS Series Mini spectrometers, a new addition to the company’s spectrometer portfolio. Designed to perform effectively in diverse scenarios, capable of providing customisable spectral coverage and resolution in a compact, lightweight enclosure.
The WS Series contains two models, the C16449MA-01, which delivers a broad spectral response range from UV to NIR, and the C16449MA-02, optimised for high spectral resolution with a range suited for advanced analytical applications.
Both models incorporate a reflective grating optical system which is paired with a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor so that performance is equivalent to traditional CCDs.
Key features include:
- The C16449MA-01 model is versatile for materials analysis, quality control, and scientific research.
- The C16449MA-02 model is suited for applications such as Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, with a spectral resolution of 0.45nm for precise material characterisation.
- Measuring 80x75x25mm, the C16449MA series of mini spectrometers can be integrated into multiple systems without the need for an external power supply due to USB bus powering.
- The reflective grating design enables the WS Series to be tailored to customer requirements.
