Hamamatsu launches slide scanner system

The system is suitable for large scale digital pathology operations.

Hamamatsu Photonics, provider of photonics technology and products has launched the NanoZoomer S540MD (C17400-21MDEU) slide scanner system for large-scale digital pathology operations.

The system can scan up to 540 slides in a single run with 82 slides per hour and each rack loading up to 30 slides.

Fully automatic and semi-automatic scanning modes can be selected, and continuous loading functionality adds cassettes without interruption.

The S540MD is compatible with industry-standard slide racks, including Leica and Sakura, enabling easy integration into existing laboratory environments.

NZAcquireMD Image Acquisition Software and the NZViewMD Image Viewing Platform allows for efficient management, review and quality check of whole slide images.

A touchscreen interface allows users to operate and monitor key scanning functions without accessing the operation software. This includes tasks such as stopping and starting scans, removing or setting scan priority for racks and displaying scan status.

The system is suitable for operations in clinical pathology laboratories and hospitals.
