Biotech Fluidics expands fluorescence detector range

The company’s latest, smallest addition can be configured to a range of fluidic applications

Manufacturer Biotech Fluidics has introduced the Mikron 71, the latest addition to their range of Runge Mikron modular fluorescence detectors.

The Mikron 71 can be configured to a variety of fluidic applications, measuring at just 32mm in diameter and 128mm in length. It is particularly suitable for instruments lacking fluorescence detection, such as preparative liquid chromatography systems.

Mikron 71’s modular nature allows for multiple, interchangeable fixed wavelength filters, light sources and flow cells. This enables both simulation and emission fluorescence measurements.

The Mikron 71 can be used directly in a chilled environment at 4°C, making it useful for the detection of proteins down to the nanomolar level.

The detector reference channel of the Mikron 71 ensures accuracy and sensitivity with no need for external calibration.

Runge Mikron detectors connect easily, drawing power from a single USB-C port. Drivers are provided for several chromatography software packages, or an open protocol can be used for customized implementation.
