Patented device reinvents Solid Phase Extraction
Biotech Fluidics is launching SPEedy, a device that enables Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) sample preparation procedures without requiring an external vacuum and is compatible with any adsorption chemistry or eluent composition
SPEedy’s design eliminates the traditional SPE sample-preparation hassle of using heavy manual manifolds connected to sometimes inconsistent vacuum sources. Additionally, it is not necessary to purchase positive-pressure laboratory instruments that require a constant gas supply.
SPEedy enables easy and complete control of SPE processes. Preventing dried-out samples waiting for the neighbouring samples to elute and ensures full and accurate control of every sample the lab is tasked with. Each sample processed by a SPEedy device has its own flow path, minimising the risk of cross-contamination.
The device can be easily adapted to almost any SPE format in terms of volume and working diameter. A fully automated version of SPEedy is set to be released in the future, which will provide highly accurate, controlled flow management for multi-parallel SPE procedures. The innovative design of SPEedy is protected by Swedish patent SE547146.C2 and global patent applications are pending.
