Life science company Amsbio has expanded its range of iPSC differentiation kits for generation of specific cell types.
The new Quick-Clia product line comprises human induced pluripotent stem cell derived glial cells. It aims to help produce fast and reproducible research in subjects such as neurobiology, drug discovery and neurodegeneration. By enabling the conversion of iPSCs into functional neurons in one to two weeks, the kits streamline workflow for disease modelling, drug screening and neurobiology applications.
Quick-Glia Astrocyte-SeV kits facilitate the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into astrocytes using Sendai virus technology. Astrocytes are now recognised as active, dynamic regulators of brain function, so the characterisation of iPSC-derived astrocytes has become crucial.
There are also Quick-Glia human iPSC-derived microglia, which are high purity, cryopreserved microglia that provide a consistent, biologically relevant in vitro model for studying human microglial biology and disease. This can assist with drug discovery, toxicity screening and neurodegenerative disease research.
