Advancing Neurodegeneration Research: Creative Biolabs Delivers Models and Assays Solutions

Neuroscience is entering a phase where traditional models and assays are no longer sufficient

Neuroscience is entering a phase where traditional models and assays are no longer sufficient to answer the field’s most pressing questions—from decoding circuit-level dynamics to understanding how immune cells shape disease progression. Creative Biolabs, a USA-based Contract Service Organisation (CRO), offers a range of validated transgenic and non-transgenic in vivo and in vitro models for neurodegenerative diseases, as well as a series of biochemical and histological analyses.

“One of the most challenging tasks in current research is relating cellular tests to whole organism behavior,” stated a senior neuroscientist at a research institution in the United States while discussing current hurdles in the study of neurodegeneration: “We need platforms to enable us to monitor and understand neuronal behavior in real-time while allowing us to understand the whole living system.”

In response to this, Creative Biolabs has developed a range of research support services, both in vivo and in vitro, to assist laboratories with these challenges currently being faced.

Zebrafish models represent a distinct opportunity to explore the impact of potential therapeutic agents on neurological disorders. It has been observed that due to the translucency of early development in zebrafish and conservation of essential pathways of the nervous system, visualisation of neurodevelopment, neurotoxicity, and disease phenotype is possible in a manner that is not feasible in rodent models.

“Customised zebrafish model development for specific neurological disorders. With the precise modification of the zebrafish genome, it would be possible for us to generate an accurate disease model that mirrors the major characteristics of human neurological disorders,” explained a researcher at Creative Biolabs.

On the in vitro side, they offer calcium imaging analysis and microglia phagocytosis assay. These tools allow scientists to easily study neuronal activity and immune cells.

“Functional imaging of calcium is a fundamental tool in neuroscience studies because it allows the measurement of neuronal activity,” explained the scientist. “Our product portfolio currently offers a range of research tools to help you quantify calcium activity.”

Creative Biolabs is committed to supporting neuroscience research at a moment when the field is rapidly evolving and increasingly interdisciplinary. They are prepared to develop a custom research plan to meet researchers’ specific requirements.
