Biotech Fluidics has unveiled the Degasi Integration HFIP, a high-performance online system developed to efficiently degas demanding solvents. The new degasser is fully compatible with a range of volatile and aggressive liquids, including Hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) and silanes, as well as being able to manage all other solvents used for GPC/SEC and HPLC.

HFIP is recommended for challenging liquid chromatography separations of polar polymers and peptides that are not soluble in common organic solvents. However, HFIP presents a challenge for standard degassing chambers due to its highly polar, strongly acidic, and volatile nature.

The Degasi HFIP is available with two different degassing chambers for analytical and semi-preparative applications and can handle flow rates up to 3mL/min and 6mL/min, respectively. This online degasser also includes an integration feature that provides an output signal proportional to the internal vacuum level, enabling continuous, direct monitoring by instrument assemblies and software.

As with all Degasi Integration degasser systems, they are designed to ensure silent, trouble-free operations for several years. The low swept volume and efficient design of each channel enable easier solvent exchanges in the Degasi HFIP degasser. The internal patented closed-loop vacuum control ensures ultra-stable degassing performance to minimise noise in high-precision systems.
