Biotech Fluidics has introduced a range of minitaure flat-bottom port fittings
Biotech Fluidics, a supplier of fluidic system solutions, liquid transfer components, degassing systems, and innovative laboratory technology, has launched a new range of miniature flat-bottom port fittings for life science microfluidic instrumentation, capable of processing low liquid volumes and operating when physical space for connections is restricted.
Flat-bottom ports are an ideal fit for connecting semi-rigid tubing in fluidic systems at low to medium pressure. Miniature port fittings from Biotech Fluidics are designed to combine convenience with performance, providing options to secure tubing of multiple outer diameters into traditional flat-bottom receiving ports.
The construction of the fittings is based on a novel ferrule that can seal the liquid path, along with a lock ring that holds the ferrule in position, ensuring a leak-free, sturdy connection when the nut is tightened. This design is unique and is capable of holding tight even through vibrations, and enables the nut to be tightened without twisting the tubing.
Constructed in PEEK for greater biocompatibility, the new fittings have been precisely designed to interface and integrate microfluidic systems to ensure controlled fluid flow. Additionally, they can provide an efficient pathway, excellent flow uniformity, and tight seals to help achieve reliable, repeatable results.
