Haier launches sustainable freezer range

The freezers can reach up to 50% less energy use than previous models.

Laboratory equipment supplier Haier Biomedical has launched the UltraEco ULT freezer range for laboratories, biobanks and research institutions.

“These freezers not only cut energy consumption in half – helping laboratories working towards LEAF accreditation – they also outperform previous models in temperature recovery, noise levels and ease of use. It’s a genuine leap forward in ultra-low temperature storage,” said Haier Biomedical cold product manager Harry Pomfret.

UltraEco ULT freezers use a re-designed refrigeration system and a green insulation material free of hydrofluorocarbons.

With up to 50% reduction in energy use compared to previous models, the compressors run at varying speeds, supplying cooling as needed to maintain stable temperatures.

Energy use is also reduced by an advanced door design that minimises door opening recovery times by up to 45%. Additionally, the redesigned pressure equalisation port allows the door to be reopened in 60 seconds.

In addition to minimising energy consumption, these improvements also support safer sample storage and quiet operation.
