Anton Paar unveils laser diffraction particle size analyser

The software accurately measures particle size in challenging environments

Analytical instrument developer Anton Paar has launched the Litesizer DIF 500, a laser diffraction particle size analyser.

The Litesizer DIF 500 is designed to accurately measure particle size of samples ranging from 0.01µm to 3,500µm, useful in pharmaceutical laboratories, as well as challenging and high-tech environments.

Switchable dispersion units enable the transition between liquid and dry dispersion quickly and easily.

The tool’s Kalliope software, which was developed in-house by Anton Paar, simplifies workflow by guiding users through steps such as setting parameters and obtaining results.

The software has a quality control mode that locks in delicate settings to ensure consistent performance and reduced user training time. It also ensures that all particle sizing instruments can be controlled from a single PC, reducing costs and operational complexity.

An obscuration level indicator supports precise sample loading, supporting the accurate delivery of particle size measurements.

A suction check and built-in dust cover minimise powder spread, and liquid level monitoring prevents overheating during sonification, making the Litesizer DIF 500 a safe addition to the laboratory.

The Litesizer DIF 500’s dispersion units are compatible with the company’s Litesizer DIA series, allowing for a smooth integration into existing laboratory workflows.

The launch of the Litesizer DIF 500 follows the introduction of two Multiwave microwave digestion systems last month.
