The refrigerated centrifuge is suited to clinical, biotechnology and industrial laboratories
Laboratory equipment provider Ohaus Corporation has launched floor-standing and under-bench centrifuges.
“We’re excited to introduce this centrifuge to the market”, said Ohaus product manager Anna Walkowiak. “Its combination of high capacity, precision, and space-saving design addresses the critical needs of today’s laboratories, enabling them to perform a wider range of applications more efficiently and safely.”
The high-volume refrigerated Frontier 5917RF can spin up to four 1,000ml bottles, 192 blood collection tubes and urine vessels or a variety of smaller tubes and plates. This makes it suitable for clinical, biotechnology and industrial laboratories.
The rotor chamber is made with chemical-resistant stainless steel, allowing the centrifuge to withstand harsh laboratory and research environments.
The centrifuge can achieve a maximum speed of 16,010rpm and 26,361 g-force with angle rotors, and 4,600rpm and 5,204 x g with swing out rotors.
Protective features enhance the safety and reliability of the Frontier 5917RF, offering automatic overspeed protection, imbalance detection and a self-diagnostic system.
