Designed for the automated isolation of high molecular weight DNA from bacteria
Lab consumables manufacturer Brand has launched the SmartExtraction LHS kit and a DNA extraction kit for use in laboratories.
The kit is designed for the automated isolation of high molecular weight (HMW) DNA from bacteria, yeast, tissue samples, and whole blood.
The kit is based on the patented SmartExtraction technology with Smart Modified Surfaces, developed by IST Innuscreen GmbH.
The extraction process is based on the adsorption of genomic DNA on Smart Modified Surfaces and does not require magnetic particles for DNA binding.
This means that the DNA is bound directly to the surface of the modified BRAND tips.
After washing, the genomic DNA is eluted from the Smart Modified Surfaces and is available for subsequent applications.
The entire extraction process only requires simple mixing by moving the modified BRAND tips up and down.
