The Zetasizer Nano from Malvern Instruments (Fig.2) is the first commercial instrument to include both the hardware and software for combined dynamic, static and electrophoretic light scattering measurements, says the company. As such it provides the researcher with a wide range of sample properties including particle size, molecular weight and zeta potential.

The system was specifically designed to meet the low concentration and sample volume requirements typically associated with pharmaceutical and biomolecular applications. Delivering unequalled sensitivity and versatility, it provides a powerful,

easy-to-use protein characterisation tool for every laboratory. The user-friendly software includes customisable protein specific reports, a solvent builder library and protein utilities to assist with the interpretation of data. All systems are compatible with the MPT-2 autotitrator to enable the automation of trend measurements and sample preparation.
