Warning on lack of brain tumour research spend as incidences increase

With more children and people under the age of 40 dying of a brain tumour than any other cancer in the United Kingdom, a leading researcher at Queen’s University Belfast is calling for an increase in spending on vital research.



Lack of sleep more dangerous for women

Women who get less than the recommended eight hours sleep a night are at higher risk of heart disease and heart-related problems than men with the same sleeping patterns.



Lack of transplanted liver cell proliferation

A study found that transplanted cells worked equally well in the old and young animals, but the younger animals had significantly higher levels of a growth factor needed for proliferation.
