Optimized gas leak detection

The FLIR Systems range of GF-Series Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras are proven to provide reliable, top performance leak detection across a growing range of applications.

GF-Series optical gas imaging cameras display a gas leak as a plume of vapor in the captured infrared image. Once a leak is found you can use your TVA to quantify the concentration.

Optical imaging of gas leaks using FLIR GF-Series OGI cameras is inherently safe as the technique enables you to scan for leaks remotely from a ‘safe zone’.  The OGI technology used in FLIR GF Series cameras offers tangible benefits compared to traditional "gas sniffers" because they scan a broader area much more rapidly and can detect leaks in areas that are difficult to reach with contact measurement tools.  Typically gas leaks occur in less than 1% of the components in a plant or refinery, consequently using a GF-Series OGI camera provides enormous savings in terms of time and personnel as well as minimising loss of production.  In addition to these advantages – OGI technology is now under final consideration as a tool for enabling industry to comply with new industrial emissions regulations & procedures as set by the new IED (Industrial Emissions Directive) within the EU.

Optimised FLIR GF-Series cameras are available for identifying sources of VOC emissions / leaking components from refineries, chemical plants and offshore oil / gas extraction platforms, fluorinated hydrocarbon leaks from refrigeration plants, Sulfur Hexafluoride emissions from electrical utlity plants and providing non-invasive monitoring of leaks from biogas storage tanks.
