Maximise microcapsules and particles by R&D spray drying

Spray drying is a simple, fast and continuous one-step drying process to transform solutions, emulsions, slurries or melts into a dry powder, and is well established at industrial scale.

The application of microencapsulation too many different R&D fields such as pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, environmental, textiles etc, continues to generate more and more interest within both academy and industry. Whether you wish to encapsulate your product for protection, to control or target the release, or improve handling or organoleptic properties, BUCHI has you covered. We offer instruments to produce particles from nano to millimetre in size.

The new Ultrasonic Package is an accessory for the Mini Spray Dryer B-290 and allows users to increase their application possibilities. The new ultrasonic nozzle enables the production of particles with a diameter of 10 – 60µm, which are at least double the size compared to the particles produced with the standard nozzle system, and also have a narrow standard size distribution.

Advantages are:

* Bigger particles facilitate in better flow ability of the produced powders and microcapsules, which improves the dosing and handling of the product.

* The ultrasonic nozzle operates using very low flow rates, which enables low volumes of highly valuable materials to be dried.

* Presently installed Mini Spray Dryers B-290 can be upgraded with the new Ultrasonic Package to take advantage of the new application possibilities.
