Filter for dissolution test in the best time

Whether a dissolution method is performed manually or automatically, the filter must be challenged in three primary areas: efficiency, adsorption and leachability.

With the new Roby 25 Filter Validation Test Kit from Schleicher & Schuell MicroScience it is quite simple.

Filtration is an essential step in the dissolution process. The time at which a sample is withdrawn from the dissolution vessel and is immediately filtered the dissolution process stops. The sample, once clarified of solid particles and excipient material, is now ready for the second phase of the test, the analysis performed by a UV-Vis spectrophotometric or HPLC procedure.

Additionally, filtration is needed to alleviate potential blockage of HPLC column inlets caused by particulates and excipient matter from sample solutions that ultimately results in reducing the normal lifetime of the column.

The test kit contains eight different types of Roby.

With an easy to perform manual the Filter Validation Protocol you can determine which Roby gives the best result.

Roby 25 can be used with automatic systems, manufactured by Varian, Zymark and Sotax. u
