New glass-based tissue culture and assay plates

Bibby Sterilin has launched a new range of Iwaki glass-based tissue culture and assay plates, combining the convenience of standard multiwell plates with the optical clarity of an ultra thin and uniform glass base the perfect solution for highly sensitive fluorescence and confocal microscopy applications.

Glass bases offer a number of key benefits over conventional polystyrene alternatives.

Unrivalled optical clarity makes the plates ideal for high transmittance microscope scanning.

Although specifically designed for use with confocal and multipoint microscopes they are also suitable for top and bottom reading instruments and for applications such as receptor-ligand detection through fluorescent probes, cell based assay and low-end sensitivity detections.

The chimney well design of the black plate frame reduces well to well contamination and across talk' and the borosilicate glass base is attached with a non-toxic silicone adhesive.

Culture plates are assured sterile and individually packed with and are available in 6, 24 and 96 well formats. Assay plates are supplied non sterile in packs of 5 and are available in 96 and 384 well formats.

Easily identified by the purple dolphin logo, the new products compliment Iwaki's range of cell biology plasticware, especially their existing offer of glass and quartz based dishes. u
