Buckleys, one of the UK's leading printers of wet glue labels for the food, drink and personal care packaging industries, has been awarded aGrade A' supplier status by H J Heinz.
Buckleys was upgraded to A status following an audit of its quality control and manufacturing systems.
Buckleys has supplied H J Heinz with more than 40 million highly consistent wet glue labels per month for the Heinz Baked Beans range since 2001.
The audit reviewed every stage of Buckleys' manufacturing process, from receipt of raw materials through manufacturing to delivery of finished wet glue labels.
Justin Caetano, Supply Chain Quality Assurance Manager for Heinz, comments: "H J Heinz awards aGrade A' status to suppliers such as Buckleys that consistently deliver to our stringent specification and have the systems in place to do so, enabling us to use the materials without further inspection.
The development of a supplier to the highest grade demonstrates the importance of effective and mutually beneficial supplier relationships to H J Heinz and the value we place on meeting and exceeding high standards throughout our operation.“
Tony Stevens, sales director for Buckleys, continues: "Receiving the aGrade A' supplier status is just one example of Buckleys' commitment to continuous improvement at every stage of the production process.
"We were one of the UK's first printing companies to obtain the BS 5750 Quality System accreditation in 1989, which we have retained through biannual audits. We have recently achieved the latest ISO 9001: 2000.
"We are currently working to secure accreditation to the BRC/IOP Technical Standard and Protocol for Companies Manufacturing and Supplying Food Packaging Materials for Retailer Branded Products.“
H J Heinz recently extended its contract with Buckleys to include the production of wet glue labels for the Heinz canned pasta and puddings ranges. This has increased the volume of labels supplied by Buckleys to H J Heinz to nearly 60 million per month.
Buckleys is now one of the UK's leading suppliers of wet glue labels and general promotional print.
