Engevita, from DSM, is a nutritional ingredient in a wide variety of dietary supplements and vegetarian dishes, including vegetarian paté, energy bars and yeast tablets.
It provides a source of essential nutrients, soluble fibre (beta-glucans) and minerals, as well as more readily available protein than meat. Derived from bakers' yeast, a waste product from the beer industry, Engevita is low in sodium and calories, non-GM and free from added MSG, IMP and GMP. I can be labelled vegetarian, and Halal/Kosher certification is available. It is available in flake and powder form and can be pre-mixed with tabletting agents for optimum tablet production. Engevita also acts as a bread and dough improver.
