UP TO 96 CHEMICAL REACTIONS IN ONE GO

The new generation of Variomag reaction blocks, with heating and cooling function produced by H+P Labortechnik GmbH, enables defined stirring, fast heating up to 200oC and if a cryostat is used cooling to -80oC.

Applications such as parallel organic synthesis, materials research and automation become easier when using the reaction block, according to the company.

But the reaction blocks are not only suitable for solving problems in combinatorial chemistry, they also fulfil requirements of fields like biotechnology, analytical chemistry, or metallo-organic chemistry.

Furthermore, H+P's reaction blocks are suitable for integration in automated analytical equipment.

The blocks are equipped with a wear-free Variomag magnetic stirrer. As the magnetic stirring drive works without any moving parts, it is essentially completely wear-free.

At a stirring speed of 100 to 2000 rpm, up to 96 samples can be stirred simultaneously. The bore holes of the reaction blocks are suitable for standard vessels.

However, the diameter and the depth of the bore holes can also be adjusted to non-standard vessels.

In order to prevent the evaporation of solvents, a compact reflux cooler, through which a cooling media is flowing, can be put onto the reaction block.

The inert gas cover prevents the formation of condensate or ice as well as external reactions in the test tubes.

The reaction blocks can be controlled either manually directly from your work station or via PC.

The RS232 interface enables you to externally control, document and record the values set, for example temperature cycles or time-dependent temperature ramps.

Due to the functional separation of reaction block and control unit, these devices are suitable for use in a fume cupboard.

The magnetic stirring bars of the Komet series are especially suitable for more demanding applications, eg the stirring of highly viscous media.

Due to their high-energy magnetic material, they transmit torque loads two-to-three times larger than those of conventional stirring bars of this length. Furthermore, magnetic stirring discs are available for test-tubes.
