24 HOUR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

The ProSpecT 24 hour stool diagnostic algorithm provides the first practical, rapid system to expedite diagnosis of enteric disease. The comprehensive menu of ELISA assays, each utilising the same common format for simple, accurate and sensitive diagnostic information makes this possible.

The menu features assays for the most commonly encountered parasites including Giardia, Cryptosporidium and Entameba histolytica. Bacterial assays include Clostridium difficile, Shiga Toxin E. coli, and Campylobacter. Viral assays include Rotavirus, Adenovirus and Astrovirus.

This full menu of ELISA assays, used in combination with blood agar methods for Salmonella and Shigella provides ELISA results in under two hours, and the full battery of results in 24 hours. As a result, accurate diagnosis of over 95 per cent of common organisms can be achieved in 24 hours, saving two to three days compared to conventional techniques.

With high sensitivity and specificity, the ProSpecT assays provide confidence in diagnostic information. Their common format simplifies both manual and automated use of the assays, simplifies training and optimises throughput on automated systems.

With direct antigen detection, transport problems and viability of fastidious organisms, including Campylobacter are eliminated.
