Dental recruitment and training firm, Tempdent has announced that in partnership with leading online dental training provider Smile On, they will soon be releasing the UK’s first online courses for dental nurses.
Known as ‘The Dental Nurse Education Zone’ the platform will be available from July 2012, the courses will offer access to all primary & post registration courses as well as CPD opportunities. Tempdent has been providing high quality dental training at their dedicated centre in London for many years and are respected as one of the UK leading dental recruitment specialists. Their partnership with Smile On allows prospective dental nurse candidates to enrol online and complete the vast majority of their studies over the web.
The Dental Nurse Education Zone will offer The National Diploma and the Dental Nursing NVQ/Advanced NVQ portfolios. An assessor will be appointed for the portfolio, providing feedback as well as a regional workplace assessor who will be assigned to visit students in person. Exams for both courses will take place as usual and on successful completion of the course students will receive their certificate and will be able to register as usual with the General Dental Council (GDC). These two essential steps will allow them to apply for dental jobs as fully-fledged qualified dental nurses.
From December, there will also be post registration dental courses available to qualified dental nurses. Anyone who is not currently able to take day release from their practice will be able to log on to learning sessions at their own convenience. In addition, they will be able to take advantage of e-learning options for Office and Management NVQs and Apprenticeships. This part of the training will also be available to managers unable to take time away from busy dental practices to attend traditional classroom based courses.
The online system has been designed to be interactive & fun to work on. Users will have a discussion area where they can speak to other students or to their teachers & assessors, ensuring that no student will feel isolated, no matter how and where they choose to take the course.
