Atomic absorption spectrometer for deuterium graphite furnace analyses

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc has announced the launch of a new compact atomic absorption (AA) spectrometer for dedicated and cost-effective graphite furnace analysis.

The Thermo Scientific iCE 3300GF, the latest addition to the iCE 3000 Series range of AA spectrometers, is suited for economically conscious laboratories. It offers guaranteed deuterium background correction and automatic optical set-up, ensuring optimal sensitivity, reliability and accuracy of results.

Developed for a range of analytical applications across environmental, academic, clinical and food safety laboratories, the iCE 3300GF AA spectrometer includes features that provide high levels of sensitivity and efficiency for trace elemental analysis. The iCE 3300GF AA spectrometer offers an integrated furnace autosampler for preparing standards and
intelligently diluting over-range samples, as well as an Ebert optical system. This significantly increases productivity by enabling automatic and unattended operation. In addition, the new instrument offers a unique graphite furnace vision system (GFTV), which provides a real-time internal view of the graphite cuvette, allowing observation of sample deposition and
drying behavior and enhancing overall method development.

As a dedicated graphite furnace system, the iCE 3300GF AA spectrometer is an ideal solution for laboratories that require a cost-effective instrument capable of reaching parts per billion detection limits for a wide range of elements. Sample consumption is low, and only a few micro liters of sample must be injected into the graphite cuvette for analysis. The instrument provides an additional or alternative option for laboratories that currently use flame AA or ICP, but require higher sensitivity.

The iCE 3300GF AA spectrometer includes the wizard-driven Thermo Scientific SOLAAR software, which provides unmatched simplicity and accessibility by guiding users through tasks including spectrometer optimization, analysis and results reporting.

For laboratories that must comply with 21 CFR Part 11, the Thermo Scientific SOLAARsecurity software offers a permission control function and tools for electronic signatures. Customers can also utilise a validation package that covers installation and operational qualification.
