Lab equipment: High capacity freeze drying

For busy laboratories constrained by available space the Virtis Ultra Freeze Dryer from SP Industries Inc. uniquely offers up to 2.13 sq m (22 sq ft) of useable shelf area in a compact footprint of just 1.13 sq m (12 sq ft).

Designed for R&D and light manufacturing applications such as tissue banking, ceramics processing, lyophilisation of microtitre plates and diagnostic reagents, the Ultra delivers high efficiency at a low operating cost.  Available with 25, 35 and 50 Litre condensers, the Ultra can be configured with such a wide variety of options that it can be considered custom for each application.  Unlike other pilot scale freeze-dryers, the Ultra is sized specifically for the solvent load, reducing the need for specialised utilities and HVAC capacity.

Its choice of control packages enable the operator to select precisely the level of control and security settings required rather than having to pay for bundled features that may not be needed.  Easy-to-use instrumentation options generate valuable information on endpoint detection and can be used to simply monitor or control and auto-advance the program.  As an instrument for R&D, the Ultra is an invaluable research tool.

With thorough documentation packages to speed validation and conform to the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11, the Ultra can also be the keystone of your cleanroom operation.  Built in a narrow configuration, with the condenser chamber behind the product chamber, the Ultra further minimises its footprint in your most valuable laboratory real estate.

Hundreds of Ultra Pilot scale freeze-dryers have been installed worldwide ensuring robust reliability of hardware and software and ready availability of spare parts.
