Lab equipment: Reliable product temperature monitoring

Providing repeatable and accurate placement of a product thermocouple in a vial or bottle - the Virtis MVP Probe System from SP Industries Inc. is a proven freeze drying accessory designed to ensure reliable product temperature monitoring.

In the freeze drying process it is vital to have accurate information on product temperature in order to process product as quickly as possible without exceeding critical temperature parameters. Exceeding critical temperature parameters can create suboptimal freeze drying conditions that may result in product degradation and a lack of post process sample viability. An overly cautious approach to raising the product temperature can result in product drying cycles that are excessively long and costly.

Designed to eliminate the difficult and awkward process of securing sensors in a freeze dryer vial the MVP Probe System repeatedly places the thermocouple sensor at the optimal spot to reliably monitor product temperature every time. Using thin 30 gauge wire the MVP Probe System has been designed to provide a greatly reduced thermal pathway to the product.

MVP Probes are available from stock in a wide range of lengths to optimally operate with almost all commercial freeze dryer vials from 2 mL to 125 mL, with either 13 mm or 20 mm neck sizes. MVP Probes are offered with a variety of plug configurations including standard thermoplastic, steam sterilisable, lemo connector and 'no plug'.
