Improving lab waste disposal options

Why use expensive plastic sharps containers to dispose of your non-sharp lab waste? Until now the main alternatives for waste collection in the lab have been plastic sharps containers or even worse sweetie jars. These plastic containers are then disposed of by incineration at great cost, producing 3tonnes of CO2 for very tonne of waste treated. Surely there must be a better way.

Econix Ltd has developed a new type of infectious waste container called Bio-bin that radically reduces your costs and CO2 emissions when disposing of clinical waste. It replaces the heavy plastic containers currently used for non sharp waste. The Bio-bin is made form paper, is 100percent leak proof and conforms to UN3291 safety standards. Its light weight constructions features a one piece design which benefits form having a built in lid.

The Bio-bin comes in several sizes form 1Ltr to 30Ltr and is also supplied in the new waste segregation colour codes. This is a new system to help segregate your waste at source and ensure that it is treated in the most cost effective way possible.
