Production of vials, ampules and ready-to-use products could increase as a result of the acquisition
Pharmaceutical glass packaging provider SGD Pharma has acquired Italian tubular glass converting company Alphial to enhance production capabilities.
“We have been investing heavily in the development of tubular glass and RTU over the last years” said general manager of the SGD Pharma west business unit Fabio Invernizzi. “Together with the SGD Pharma team, I’m truly excited to engage with the Alphial team to make this happen.”
Alphial manufactures vials, ampoules and ready-to-use products. Its acquisition will help to expand from SGD Pharma’s existing operations in Europe and India.
“We are really pleased to join the SGD Pharma Group,” said Valerio Marchi, Alphaial CEO. “SGD Pharma will help Alphial grow and improve the quality of its offering and of its industrial performance.”
The acquisition is subject to the Italian FDI clearance.
