Strek extends its line of molecular quality controls

The newest additions to the MDx-Chex line of molecular quality controls from Streck

Streck has announced its newest additions to the MDx-Chex line of molecular quality controls

The newest additions include the MDx-Chex for blood culture yeast (RUO), MDx-Chex for blood culture GP (RUO), and MDx-Chex for blood culture GN (RUO), which are full-process molecular quality controls designed for comprehensive molecular assay workflow validations.

From extraction to detection, the controls are ideal for evaluating the entire molecular testing process as each one contains intact, inactivated microorganisms suspended in a stabilised, blood-like matrix of red and white blood cells and blood culture media components.

Supplied in single-use vials, the controls cover multiple microbial targets, pathogens and antimicrobial resistance markers.

Chris Connelly, director of business segments-molecular, said:
“This expansion of the MDx-Chex control line showcases our commitment to meet the needs of laboratories that depend on our products. We’re proud to play a role in the fight against bloodstream infections.”

In addition, Streck has launched three kits for the development of procedures for the verification of molecular assay workflows.

Blood culture yeast verification kit (RUO), blood culture GP verification kit (RUO) and blood culture GN verification kit (RUO) are designed to verify the performance of molecular testing processes that detect the presence of nucleic acids from various yeasts or bacteria.

Supplied in single-use vials, these kits can be used to train and evaluate operator proficiency.
