The SaaS platform uses quantum computing and AI to enhance drug discovery
Biotechnology company Polaris Quantum Biotech (Polaris QB) has launched Quantum-Aided Drug Design (QuADD), an SaaS platform using quantum computing and AI to enhance drug discovery.
QuADD can help to cut drug candidate identification timelines to a couple hours. With input from a user-defined 3D protein binding pocket and ligand, QuADD explores up to 10^30 theoretical molecules.
“QuADD puts the most advanced quantum and AI technology in the hands of the drug discovery community, and we’re excited to see what breakthroughs our beta testers will unlock,” said Polaris QB cofounder and CEO Dr Shahar Keinan.
The technology can also uncover novel, bioavailable and readily synthesisable lead candidates that cannot be reached suing traditional or wet-lab methods. It optimises for critical drug-like criteria, including blood-brain barrier permeability, solubility, toxicity, metabolic stability and geometric fit to protein targets. Binding energy, functional groups, and orientation are also scored to maximise molecular efficacy.
QuADD delivers optimised libraries of 1,000 to 10,000 molecules, depending on binding pocket size, which are large enough for diversity and discoveries, or small enough for rapid downstream computational or experimental evaluation.
By using quantum computing’s capacity for exploring vast chemical spaces, QuADD helps researchers to focus their biotechnology experiments.
Currently, PolarisQB is taking on researchers, biotechnology companies and academic teams to join its beta programme. Participants will receive early access to the secure, confidential and isolated SaaS platform.
