Binder introduces modular photostability chamber range

The modular design allows the photostability tests to be tailored to various applications.

Simulation chamber specialist Binder has presented its latest modular photostability chamber range, which can complete an ICH-compliant photostability test in two days.

The modular nature of the range ensures that solutions for photostability tests can be tailored to configure a customised unit while remaining in accordance with the ICH guideline Q1B. This allows them to be used in a wide range of applications.

Each ICH light module features a control unit fastened to the prepared unit side wall as well as two illumination cassettes. One cassette is for the white light range (VIS) and one is for the UVA range. Despite the high light intensity, the chamber’s climate control can remain steady.

The modular design also allows for stability tests to be conducted within a single unit, saving laboratory space. Time and cost savings are also possible through the 100°C disinfection routine, which replaces manual disinfection.

The chambers, which can be retrofitted in existing laboratories, consume 40% less energy than their predecessors and are operated with natural refrigerants R600a and R290.

The ICH light modules come in two versions, with and without light-dose control (LQC). Both versions are connected to the climate chamber via a data cable. This makes it possible to control the irradiation duration of the illumination cassettes individually with a time-segment program via the program controller of the climate chamber.

The ICH light module with light-dose control contains two spherical light sensors, which are useful for three-dimensional test objects. The VIS sensor measures the illumination level of the visible light and the UVA sensor measures the irradiance level of the UVA light.

Earlier this year, Binder released a range of cooling incubators and constant climate chambers.
