Kimberly-Clark launches new lab gloves

The product was designed with ergonomics and safety in mind

Microorganisms can transfer to laboratory processes by the operator, and while reducing the presence of people in critical areas can help, there are other ways to make a difference.

One of the best ways to minimise the risk of human presence is to wear appropriate apparel that protects the environment from viable and non-viable particles.

Workplace hygiene solution provider Kimberly-Clark Professional has introduced Kimtech Polaris Nitrile Gloves, protecting both the scientist and their surroundings.

The gloves are made from a proprietary nitrile formulation and premium nitrile grade and are designed for use in laboratories, life science applications and non-sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. They have been tested against 29 common chemicals1 and 24 chemotherapy drugs2.

Human error is minimised by the gloves’ textured fingertips and smooth finishing, preventing drops and breakage incidence even when wet.

Scientists will be protected even in demanding environments. The gloves close laboratory coat gaps and feature enhanced chemical splash protection (Type B (JKOPT)) and extended chemotherapy drug splash protection.

The gloves also prioritise comfort, featuring US Ergonomics certification, demonstrating that the gloves deliver measurable ergonomic benefits by providing comfort and fit while minimising injury-causing risk factors.

“The Kimtech™ Polaris™ Nitrile Glove design helps reduce stress on joints, ligaments and tendons,” said Franck Bureth, EMEA regional scientific category leader at Kimberly-Clark Professional.

“This reduces workplace hand injuries related to repetitive use and hand strain, which in turn increases worker efficiency through improved grip and performance.”

The gloves are available in two lengths, 25cm and 30cm.
