These fixed-focus, radiation-resistant lenses can be customised to suit your camera
Lens specialist Resolve Optics has recently released the latest versions of its fixed-focus, radiation-resistant lenses for close-up nuclear inspection.
These lenses can withstand radiation exposure of up to 100kGy and temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius without discolouration.
"Our radiation resistant lenses are helping organisations operating in a growing number of different and interesting applications, ranging from close-up inspection in space and nuclear plants to use as targeting elements in synchrotron radiation therapy machines and commercial x-ray instrumentation,” said Resolve Optics’ managing director Mark Pontin.
The Model 214 non-browning lens provides a focal length of six millimetres. Its 85-degree field of view and f/2 to f/16 variable iris control keep geometric distortion to a minimum.
Those requiring a lens for low-light areas could benefit from the Model 313, a 25-millimetre lens with an aperture of f/1.4, which collects as much light as possible. The amount of light can also be adjusted with its adjustable iris, which reduced light intake if needed.
The Model 286 non-browning lens is specifically designed for radiation resistant tube and two-to-three-inch CMOS cameras. It has an adjustable f/2 to f/16 iris and minimises geometric distortion from 400nm to 750nm.
Resolve Optic’s lenses can be customised to suit different cameras or sensors. Lenses that can withstand hazardous or difficult-to-reach environments are vital for nuclear inspection processes.
Just last month, Resolve Optics opened a new cleanroom facility at its headquarters in Chesham for the assembly of lenses, optical systems and modules.
